Currently finishing up a paper in which I argue that philosophers have been thinking about climate change in a way that鈥檚 inappropriately individualistic. I think this has led them to draw the wrong conclusions about what kinds of obligations we might have as individuals and also what kind of power and agency we might have when it comes to big problems like climate change.
Working with a colleague in psychology to investigate 鈥渋mplicatory climate change denial,鈥 which is a term psychologists have been using to describe the phenomenon of accepting that climate change is real but denying the (often obvious) physical, social, and political implications of climate change.
Recently co-taught an introductory philosophy course at a prison in the Philadelphia area. I learned a lot from the students in that class and from the experience in general and I鈥檒l be looking to develop and teach more courses in the context of a prison teaching program here in Chicago.
