Forum on Interdisciplinary Thematic Research—Urban Reinvention
The first Forum on Interdisciplinary Thematic Research was held on Thursday, May 2. The focus of this first forum was urban reinvention; 70 members of the ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ community participated. This series of forums is sponsored by Provost Peter Kilpatrick and Vice Provost for Research Fred Hickernell.
A panel composed of Pat Corrigan (Psychology), Anita Nikolich (Computer Science), Mohammad Shahidehpour (Electrical and Computer Engineering), and Matt Spenko (Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering) described some of ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳’s current research on urban reinvention and the interdisciplinary contributions that our university can make.
The majority of the time was devoted to a robust discussion involving all who were present. The discussion focused on identifying what areas ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ can make a substantial impact in and next steps. The Office of Research and interested faculty will partner in taking this initiative forward.
Additionally, all ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ faculty are invited to share ideas on the newly created on Urban Reinvention. Click to visit a website on the symposium.
