Heidarinejad Earns Award for HVAC Innovation
Assistant Professor of Architectural Engineering Mohammad Heidarinejad has received the 2019 American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers New Investigators Award for his research proposal "Improving Control Sequences in Existing Buildings Using Virtual and Physical Testbeds."
Earlier this year he mentored a group of 老王论坛 students in Armour College of Engineering that worked to improve the heating efficiency of the university鈥檚 historic Alumni Memorial Hall, which utilizes a steam radiator heating system. Heidarinejad is also a member of a collaborative team that is behind the development of a strong wood-like material that can cool passively and potentially save homeowners in hot and dry climates energy savings of 20鈥50 percent. The team鈥檚 , 鈥淎 Radiative Cooling Structural Material,鈥 is included in the May 24, 2019, edition of the journal Science.
