INTM IPROs Win Top Awards at IIT IPRO Day Spring '13
IIT鈥檚 INTM program received several awards at IIT's 2013 Spring IPRO Day last week. Professor Will Maurer's "Integration of Process Improvements," an ongoing project with A. Finkl & Sons, took IIT School of Applied Technology Dean's Choice Award. The students' work for the world's leading supplier of forging die steels, plastic mold steels, die casting tool steels and custom open-die forgings is focused on solving an industry-wide problem related to perfecting steel grinding and finishing processes.
INTM Faculty member Phil Lewis鈥 project, 鈥Process Improvements in Auto Electronics Manufacture鈥 (IPRO 326) with OMRON Automotive Electronics, won first place in the Business and Manufacturing Process Improvement track.
Dr. Dan Tomal鈥檚 project, 鈥Techno-Economics of Smart Grid Renewable Energy Technology鈥 (IPRO 338) with the Electrical Contractors鈥 Association/Chicago won first place in the Energy and Environmental Sustainability Track.
