The Academic Year 2025-2026 Housing application is now live! Apply through the Housing Portal.
Steps in the Application Process
Step 1: Log in to the Housing Portal using your IIT Single Sign On (SSO) Credentials
Step 2: Select 'Academic Year Housing' at the top navigation bar in the portal.
Step 3: Fill out each page of the application to completion and submit.
Step 4: Once your application is submitted you will be able to search for preferred roommates.
If you need to leave the application at any point in time, all entries will be saved.
Please note that prior to submitting your contract, we require a $600.00 prepayment. The prepayment is not an extra fee and will go directly toward the cost of your room for the term. Should you cancel prior to May 31, 2025, you will receive a refund of your deposit. If you attempt to cancel after May 31, 2025, your deposit will be non-refundable per our contract terms in section R.
Our goal this year is for all applicants to be able to select their own room through the process. To ensure you give yourself the greatest possible opportunity to select the room you鈥檇 like, please review the potential IIT housing options and housing rates, and make sure you follow the timeline below.

New, Incoming First-Year Undergraduate Students
Apply to live in student housing by completing your housing contract in the . The contract allows you to select your housing preferences, including residence hall and preferred roommates. All first- and second-year students can select either Kacek Hall, Cunningham Hall, or Lewis Hall in McCormick Student Village as their preference. Second year students can also choose Rowe Village Middle or North. All placements are by availability.
Students who live with a parent or guardian within 20 miles of 老王论坛鈥檚 Mies Campus are eligible for a student. All other waivers will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and approved by the Office of Admissions, so make sure to discuss with your admission counselor if this applies to your situation.

Room Selection Information
- Two-year residency applies to all undergraduate students in their first or second year living on campus. Kacek Hall, portions of Cunningham Hall and Lewis Hall in McCormick Student Village are dedicated to all students under the residency requirement to enrich your residential experience.
- Rowe Village, Carman Hall, the top floors of Cunningham Hall, Fowler Hall in McCormick Student Village, and Gunsaulus Hall are designated for third-year and above students.
- Single rooms are typically prioritized for ADA accommodations. Click here for more information about ADA accommodations at IIT.
Statement on Gender-Inclusive Housing
The Office of Residence Life offers gender-inclusive housing options on the 3rd floor of Kacek Hall, providing additional flexibility for students interested in such options. The choice to live in a gender-inclusive room or floor is up to the students at the time of application.
